Tower of London

Friday was our first London Study day and we went to the Tower of London. It was built as a palace and fortress, not as a prison which is how most of us think of it. It sits on the Thames river. Another highlight are the Crown Jewels which are stored there. Lots of crowns, rings, ad swords. We learned a lot about Henry the IV and his wives.

I don't know if this was a huge deal in the states but everyone here practically mourned :)After exploring the Tower of London (its not free so we won't ever go back--unlike the museums here which are all free) and Tower Bridge, we headed home and -sigh- did homework. After dinner we tried to go get discount tickets to Les Miz but I don't think we went to the right place. Later that night after more homework and blog writing, Sarah and I speed walked to Gelato Mio (recommendation from Natalie) which was fun.
